Skills
- Oral and written communication. Writing and presentation of technical data. Wiring and schematic drawings and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units

- Analysis and interpretation. Ability to analyze complex engineering problems to provide technical assistance and resolve design-related problems
- Crisis management/problem resolution. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after the design of the project.
- Project management. Supervisory experience, including setting goals and objectives, project development, planning and organization
- Leadership. Lead a technical team to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
- Teamwork. Work together with other engineers and individuals to solve and define the developmental problems
Primary Responsibilities
- Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
- Develops leading edge technology to increase the IP of the company.
- Researches, develops, designs, and tests electronic components, products, and systems by performing the following duties:
- Prepares quotes for custom applications and designs.
- Designs electronic circuits, components, products and systems for custom applications.
- Design, layout and assemble prototype printed circuit boards.
- Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing and testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance and repair of equipment in field installations.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Evaluates systems and recommends design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements.
- Develops new applications of conductive properties of metallic and nonmetallic materials used in components, and in application of components to products or systems.
- Directs field operations and maintenance of electronic installations.
- Designs and directs engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of test fixtures and equipment. Determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
- Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, record and interpret test data.
- Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
- Confers with production, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems; such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation.
- Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management.
- Performs design reviews of contractor and associate's designs.
- Documents designs and design processes as required to meet ISO 9000 or equivalent quality standards and company quality system.
- Meets and coordinates activities with customers and potential customers to bring projects to completion.
- Assist Sales when making initial and subsequent contact with potential customers when the project complexity requires engineering assistance.
- Train company employees as needed for new technology dissemination.
- Directs the activities and sets priorities for one or more projects.
