Quality Control
Responsibilities
Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties:
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or work instructions and, if necessary, confers with Management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Selects products at specified stages in production process to inspect and test products for variety of requirements such as dimensions, performance, mechanical or electrical characteristics, labeling information and cosmetic specifications.
- Evaluates and records data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Evaluates customer returns for cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Logs nonconforming material information and develops Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMs) for Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Sets up and performs tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance or material characteristics for incoming, in-process and final quality control inspections.
- Enters data into a computer for statistical analysis.
- Performs calibration checks on test and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- The ability to convert metric to English systems of measurement.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
